Looking for the cheapest stay in Glasgow, I had some comfortable nights here. The staff definitely cared about the place and the guests.

Please not that the Queens Park is a high standard hostel but not a hotel, so I was positively surprised by the interior and the showers in the basement,

As a colorful part of modern Glasgow the south side is an excellent start for less ordinary visitors.
