Came back after decades, service always good. I had gyoza and spicy miso noodle and found a worm halfway finishing my soup... No! No! so supposedly due to lack of attention in preparations... they didn't charge me for the noodles but Will probably never come back.

If you want pseudo-japanese dishes, with thick broth and oily meat, with fancy pork cheek and decoration that looks like it was designed by a lifetime Anime fan, Taichan is not the place for you. Go to Ikkudo or something.
Taichan is, at its heart, a genuine Japanese eating house experience. The menu, just as its ambiance, shies away from luxurious high-def photos and accessories, and it sticks to what it does best: warm rustic home-made local Japanese food. Sitting down and dining in Taichan transports you to a small shop in Gunma.
Taichan's best seller is スタミナラーメン 【ｓｔａｍｉｎａ ｒａｍｅｎ】 which is a refreshing concoction of light broth (of what I suspect is a mix between konbu and shoyu) and springy curly noodles, topped with carrots, spring onion and broiled beef slices. The whole bowl feels light and easy to go down the palate! Their gyoza contains generous portion of garlic and it pairs the stamina ramen well. If you've been to northern Kanto, all of these might feel familiar!
Also recommended are Taichan's teishoku (set menu) and karaage!

Decided to come here after almost a decade of not dining at Taichan. Best decision ever as the chicken teriyaki set that I loved since a child still tastes the same. The set includes a bowl of rice, a bowl of tasty miso soup, salad, and some veggies. The staff were helpful but I'm sure they could improve on their staff's uniform. Some were seen not wearing the uniform and one was wearing a worn out t-shirt. Hope they can upgrade their interior design as well to keep up with their competitors.
