Good pizza at a good price
We visited this restaurant twice during our visit in Rome. The pizza is very good and the price is low, given the location of the restaurant.

This pizzeria was recommended by a colleague of wife who was born and grew up in Rome.

I clearly recommend this pizzeria. However you need to keep in mind the following:

* The most important thing is that they don't accept reservations. The restaurant is very small, and they act by the rule "first came, first served".

* Since the restaurant is small and there are no reservations, during the busy hours at lunch or at dinner there can be a big queue outside of the restaurant. So it's recommended to come as soon as they open for lunch or for dinner.

* They don't accept credit / debit cards. So you need to have cash at hand.

* The staff can feel a little unfriendly. Don't be surprised when they waiters hands over the bill and invites you to leave, right after you finished eating. After all there can be another 20-30 people outside waiting to eat.
However, despite this, the service is very good and the cooks are very friendly. Since the oven and the kitchen is part of the main room you can literally watch how they prepare your pizza from scratch.

* The tables and the plates are very simple. They serve the pizza on a metal plate with just a sheet of paper on the table. This is part of the restaurant's culture and I think it makes cozy.

Yes service is "bare" and the place simple, yet I come back every time I am in Rome as the Pizza is near perfection (at least for me). This is what Pizza should be and if you treat the service nicely they actually become your best friends. There is a reason so many people are willing to stand in line for over an hour........

This place definitely doesn't have the best pizza in Rome, but they're O.K. We had a quick and good dinner, but the service was so bad that we actually had great fun because of it. They'd just throw your plates and drinks on the table without looking or saying anything, assuming that you'll put it in the right place yourself. They won't spend more than 3 words if not nessasery, and if it takes them too long to take your order or to receive your payment, they just go to another customer...

We were in a good mood and didn't want to spend there too much time, so we could actually laugh about this:) Therefore 3 stars instead of 1.

I would definitely not come back to this 'restaurant'.

Typical tourist trap, full of tourists which haven't done their research and only go because they see a huge queue waiting. Pizza is mediocre at best, there are much better places nearby. Spend 5 seconds on Google and you'll see. Tip - walk to Da Francesco instead for good pizza.

Ordered take away Pizza con Prosciutto (Pizza with Ham). The service was non-existent, guy literally handed me the pizza without saying a word and then turned around.
Considering this place was recommended to us and we kept seeing lines of people waiting for their pizza, we assumed that food is their redeeming quality... But having eaten great pizzas during our Italy trip, I'd definitely say this one is not worth waiting in line - it's not bad, just not that great. Quite surprised that it's been dubbed "best pizza in Rome".
