To the unsuspecting..............expecting to pay circa 250euros for an awesome venue and food................the location is amazing but beware of the fish if the day it will bite you !!!! advertised at 25 euros we were told it was a sea bass and too big for one portion so my wife and I had the whole fish. When it came to paying we were shocked to find that we had been charged 150 euros for the pleasure. I don’t normally write reviews but feel, with hindsight, we should have been told about the cost. I would use the analogy ‘emporers new clothes’ about the Gritti palace - the food really was quite average and service efficient but a bit starched. The total bill with a ‘cheap’ bottle of wine cane to 350 euros. We won’t be going back. Notwithstanding it was a memorable evening !!!

As someone who travels around the world often, I would say that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in in many years. From the great location to the beautiful rooms this is a must stay. The hotel staff are some of the best I have seen in my travels.

Excellent location at Grand Canal (accessible by water taxi). Luxurious rooms. Breakfast buffet was not the best I had in Italy - nothing special in regards to fruit, cheese, or cold cuts - so it was clearly overpriced, but maybe that's just Venice.

Gritti Palace is a great place to stay and relax. Centrally located in Venice, it's one of the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. It being a 16 century palace, adds aristocracy. Hotel services and restaurant quality is excellent. I would definitely recommend this place and consider revisiting.

Gritti Palace is a great place to stay and relax. Centrally located in Venice, it's one of the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. It being a 16 century palace, adds aristocracy.
