Lielupes palienes pļavas

The city of Jelgava Palace on the island is national natural reserve Lielupe floodplain meadows. It is one of the last places where preserved intact Lielupe natural floodplain meadows. As a valuable habitat and important nesting area for birds Lielupe meadows included the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Latvian conservation plan valuable list of sites and "CORINE habitats" project site in the list.
