I was very hesitant to take my bunny. However, the service was greay, they explain everything to me. I took Nux (my bunny) for a check up and he is in great health. Definitely I will be taking him again.

After spending thousands of dollars on the San Diego "Vet Treadmill", Dr. Rivera was recommended to me by a friend. My Miniature Schnauzer, Buster, had been plagued with what seemed like incurable skin problems. He was prescribed "topical" ointments and lotions -- all to no avail. One Vet recommended extensive skin tests at a cost of $2,000.00.
I took Buster to Dr. Rivera. Before he was lifted up to the examination table, Dr. Rivera said, "thyroid". He prescribed "Levothyroxin" twice a day. Bingo!! All hot spots and irritation disappeared . In it's place was a lush new, shiny coat. Dr. Rivera subsequently extended Buster's life by at least 3 years by treating him for a spinal problem and osteosarcosis (bone cancer). His expertise is unmatched by any of the vets I used in San Diego. In short, he's simply the BEST.
Now that Buster has passed (Dr. Rivera took care of all the end-of-life duties including cremation), I have "enrolled" my new life-long desired dog -- a Border Collie named "Hugs" (by the breeder) and registered as "Admiral B. C. Hugs" with AKC ... after all, San Diego is a NAVY town. Dr. Rivera performed surgery on "Hugs" for Cryptorchidism (the failure of the testicles to drop) and all is well. Follow-ups for a very serious infection picked up at Dog Beach was quickly solved with antibiotics and a change of diet to raw chicken (he LOVES it).
In summary, I go out of my way to take my dog to Dr. Rivera. And, I'm no "spring chicken" at 75. It's a 3.5-4.0 hour trip. I drive 22 miles from Ocean Beach to San Ysidro (each way). I pay for parking ($8) and walk across the border. A taxi to La Playa Tijuana is $10.00 plus $2.00 tip each way. If you add all of the expenses it is $39.00 round-trip . This is less than an "office call" charge in San Diego. BUT, that's not the issue. The issue is Dr. Rivera's expertise and performance, not cost. Dr. Rivera has been effective 100% of the time. Yes, he costs a little less and that also helps make the trip worthwhile.
