Staff spoke English. Clean and quiet room. Very good breakfast. Close enough to Hurtigruten port.

The Scandic Parken is a great place to stay while in Ålesund. The rooms and bathrooms are amply sized, the beds are comfortable, the wifi works well, the staff is friendly and the breakfast buffet offers a generous selection of hot and cold foods. If you book an economy room, I highly recommend you accept their upgrade offer to a higher floor with a view (approximately $12.50 USD per night and well worth it). We did not and regretted it later. If you do not get a room with a view of the city below, check out the meeting room view on floor 9. Gorgeous view, especially if you're lucky enough to catch a sunset. The location is a convenient walking distance to most places of interest in town and the view potential is great but keep in mind this hotel is located up a steep hill from the harbor area and central station.

The view of this hotel was amazing! At least from our room.
The hotel is close to town and really close to the aksla so you can even have a better view.
The staff was friendly and dinner was nice, with breakfast there was to many to choose from.

Perfectly OK hotel, the room we had was clean and nice. Breakfast if great with a big selection of different food and drink :-)

One of my favorites. Make sure you get a room with a view on the harbor. Price for best breakfast 2016. You won't be able to taste it all in one morning.
