The best chinese in barcelona. Truly an out of world experience eating beautiful food and chatting with the owners. A bit expensive but totally worth it!

We have been in Spain for a couple of weeks and we were ready for something different. Our "Level" concierge at Melia Barcelona Sky recommended Shanghai and we could not have been happier. The food was amazing and the service outstanding. The wine list is shockingly well rounded (almost all Spanish) and pairs well with the intensely fresh cuisine. Ask your waiter! They know the wine very well and more importantly how to pair it. Wow! This is absolutely with a stop when you are in Barcelona!

Barcelona, I feel for you if this is among your best options for Chinese food. Maybe I have been spoiled living in Chicago and New York, but Shanghai Barcelona served average food at ridiculously high prices. The wine selection is great but does not match the lackluster experience of the food. The spring rolls are fried AND have Chicken, so other vegetarians beware. A safe food at any other Chinese establishment manages to be screwed up in every way possible. My husband and I were so turned off by this place we chose to leave hungry. Save your money and buy a pastry down the street for dinner!
