Great Royal castle with many things to see,
contains quite a bit of history! In the basement you can find the crown jewels and details about the construction of the palace, and on the first floor they have exposed a large part of the castle rooms and halls for viewing. Found it more extensive than Drottingholm Castle, though it didn't have the giant gardens that Drottingholm has.

Beautiful palace as most European palaces. A must visit. The lighting is not so great unfortunately because they want to preserve the rooms.

Having seen a few palaces around the world, I felt this one is a bit understated, nevertheless it's functional and well looked after. Taking a guided tour would certainly help but I did the trip on my own and did not feel that I missed much. If you have a good guide book, that would be great. Worth a look. Entry fee applicable. Credit cards accepted.

Quite an interesting morning in the museum before the changing of the guard. The only real problem is much of the castle seems to be as dark as it was when it was built! The advantage though is that the extensive and fabulous tapestries on the walls are among the best centuries old tapestries I have seen, probably because they haven't seen the light of day since they were woven. Fortunately, my new Google Pixel phone took incredible pictures of the tapestries as well as the sumptuous rooms, jewelry, uniforms, and dresses on display. A surprisingly enjoyable morning.
The changing of the guard is much longer than it needed to be, though does give the band time to entertain more after all the practice all bands require. The marching had a few nice choreographic moments, but was basically routine. Lots of handsome men though!

One of the most beautiful excursions you could take..i did not go inside the palace because the area around was so mesmerizing. The trip to the palace by ferry in itself is a pleasurable experience. Once you reach there, the waterfront, the scenic beauty and the royal gardens are not a sight to be missed
