The Memorial Ucraniano (Ukrainian Memorial), locate inside the Parque Tingüi, is an splendid sample of the legacy of the European imigration in Curitiba. It opened in 1995 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Ukranian imigrants in Curitiba. The most beautiful building in the memorial is a replica of the church of São Miguel Arcanjo, built in the traditional Byzantine style. Inside the church there is a permanent exhibition that includes some truly beautiful traditional pessankas (hand-painted eggs).
